Hi there, I’m Amelia — a British travel writer and brand storyteller based in Lisbon, Portugal. For over a decade, I’ve specialised in adventure and luxury travel for the UK market, with a focus on content that celebrates wild places and local voices.

My features have appeared in The Times, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Evening Standard, Lonely Planet and National Geographic Traveller, while my copywriting work includes partnerships with leading travel companies such as Abercrombie & Kent to bring destinations and experiences vividly to life.

Before going freelance, I held senior editorial roles — Acting Senior Editor at Abercrombie & Kent, Deputy Editor at National Geographic Traveller and Managing Editor at APL Media — experiences that sharpened both my editorial instincts and my eye for brand storytelling.

Along the way, my writing has been recognised with awards, including Specialist Travel Writer of the Year (TravMedia Awards 2026; Travel Media Awards 2019) and a place in The Best British Travel Writing of the 21st Century anthology published by Summersdale in 2022.

I offer:
Feature writing for leading publications
Creative copywriting (web, brochures, newsletters, campaigns)
Tone of voice & content strategy
Agency & editorial support

At the heart of my work is a belief that travel isn’t just about where we choose to go, but how we connect — with people, with place and with possibility. If you’re an organisation or editor looking for thoughtful and polished storytelling, I’d love to collaborate.
